Occasionally when you plug a BlackBerry (specifically BlackBerry 7290) into your computer for syncronization with the Desktop Manager software it will not successfully syncronize or it will become stuck at the syncronization screen forever.
In addition, you may be asked to generate a new encryption code by moving your mouse around the screen for a while. The BlackBerry device is the culprit, not the Desktop software. No need to reinstall the Desktop Manager software.
Resolution:
- Remove the BlackBerry battery cover
- Remove the battery
- Raise the SIM card up so it is no longer connected to the BlackBerry
- Wait 15 seconds
- Put SIM card back down
- Place battery back in and close the back of the BlackBerry
- This should resolve the issue. Once the BlackBerry has booted up, you may plug the device back in and it should syncronize correctly.
